17.08.22 – Today we had the vet to do an annual check-up for Holly, who has Cushing’s disease, a pituitary tumour, which causes excess hair growth and hormonal imbalance and can lead to weight loss and other symptoms! She has been medicated for eight years, since she was seventeen, is happy, has a strong heart etc and really apart from being hairier in winter, which is ok because the horses aren’t rugged, she doesn’t look or behave any differently! I asked the vet about the sheep and they will do blood tests in December for our MV accreditation! He also says there is a lambing club, which is an insurance for problems! I will check this out later in the year, when hopefully Emma and Evie, will be going to the Tup, back where they were bred, fingers crossed for lambs in the Spring.
