21.09.22 – Confirmation that the drenching gun has been dispatched, what a relief! Ginger the cat who usually arrives at food time hasn’t been around for a few days, also no cat biscuits tipped over by Hedgehog! Rookie however is still with us, he came to within a metre of me today, along with Topaz and Opal, running off with a bit of Beauty’s bread in his beak. I was interested that he held the bread with his foot and pulled small bites with his beak. The sheep decided to visit us by the paddock today, so I gave them some sheep feed, like grass nuts, just a few each, which they ate enthusiastically! The temperature has been dropping at night down to 8 degrees, when it gets lower than 7 degrees, the grass will stop growing, so they know where to come if they are hungry, with the horses, who answer to my whistle, or come when they see me! As Holly has her daily Prascend tablet, in with food, both horses have a small feed every day, so that Shah doesn’t try to steal from her bucket. There is also hay available in the barn, with free access, for sheep and horses.
