Today the sheep decided it is too wet so are settled in the barn, have had some grass nuts and are lovely and dry, the horses however, are half way down the far field grazing and not bothered with the rain. They keep warm by eating and degrees of cold are tolerated well, as long as they are dry. the worst weather for horses is cold, wet and windy, when they become chilled. They have not worn rugs, since we bought our land, as they have free access to shelter, as well as lots of trees and hedges, to shield them!

So the weather has been awful, but due to the mild temperatures the sheep have been grazing at the furthest point away! Twice daily checking is not so easy, when they don’t come for grass cubes, but they are obviously happy girls. The horses are still not really bothered about feeds either, as long as Holly takes her daily Prascend tablet, that is ok. There is always hay in the barn! There are some sloes half way down the hedge in our far field, to be picked and added to gin!
